The Blue Mountains Historical Society will be holding an Open Day, the first for 2024, on Sunday 28 January 2024.
Tarella Cottage Open Day – Sunday 28 January 2024
Tarella Historic House and Museum will open for inspection for the first time in 2024 on Sunday 28th January, from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm (last entry at 2.45 pm).
The Blue Mountains Historical Society invites you to visit our 19th Century holiday cottage and museum at 99 Blaxland Road, Wentworth Falls, to experience the way mountain residents and holiday makers lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
“Tarella” began as a holiday home to the McLaughlin family in the 1890s but, eventually, mountain-life attracted them and Ada McLaughlin and her two daughters, Ida and Beryl, lived there for the rest of their lives.
Visitors are also welcome to inspect the Society’s research rooms and resources on the day.
Entry to Tarella is Adults $5.00; Children $2.00. Morning and afternoon teas are available throughout the day in the Society’s Research kitchen.
